The meeting began at 7:00 PM with Roger Chambers, stating that Christopher Mays was requesting an area variance after denial of a building permit.
After a brief discussion, it was discovered that Mr. Mays had several designs to discuss but had not recently applied to the Board of Selectmen for a building permit. Chairman Roger Chambers explained that the Board of Adjustment is an appeals board and since Mr. Mays had not applied for a building permit, he had been erroneously sent to the Board of Adjustment.
On behalf of the town, the Board apologized to Mr. Mays and to others in attendance, but explained that we could not proceed to hear the case. A motion was made by Helene Matesky and seconded by Debbie Crowther, to close the Public Hearing and refer Mr. Mays to the Selectmen for a building permit and review of his proposed changes.
New Business:
The Board approved clarifications to the By-Laws that were required by recent changes in the Office of Energy and Planning Manual, The Board of Adjustment in New Hampshire, March 2008.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 PM
